Our Story
Hi, I’m Brianna and The Creative Toy Shop is my baby. The Creative Toy Shop was born out of my first project called Notes From a Home Educator, which I’ve founded back in 2015 on Instagram. It had exploded to the community of over 125 000 social media members in just a few years and has been growing ever since. I’ve started Notes From a Home Educator project because I wanted to share my personal journey and knowledge around special needs, home education and learning through play. I always wanted to support parents and carers through tips, ideas, and the best possible products that I have found successful myself.
Our History
When I was finishing my Bachelor of Primary Education, I was planning to work in the traditional school environment. It had always been on my heart to work in special needs education. I worked full time for many years in the Kennedy family, caring for, and educating their four awesome boys: Preston, Indy, Dash and Freddie Fantastic who has Down Syndrome. I was fulfilling my heart desires as I was sharing our days in Notes From a Home Educator. I believe God brought the Kennedy family and myself together for a purpose as I always wanted to work with children of all abilities including special needs. In my heart I truly believe in seeing the child, before seeing the diagnosis. I want to be able to meet the needs of each child without the limitations and constraints of working in a school environment.
The Creative Toy Shop
The Creative Toy Shop was born as an extension of our Notes From a Home Educator social media community and quickly became a hub to ‘play based learning for all abilities’ (and the statement became our mission).
Everything we do has been well thought through and planned to cater for kids of all abilities, from the toys we choose, to the activity guides and resources we develop.
As we continue to PLAY, LEARN and GROW together with you, we'll be expanding and venturing into the new exciting areas. We look forward to enjoying our current and future chapters with you.
